The United Nations Organization (UNO), or simply United Nations (UN), is an international organization whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and the achieving of world peace.
Kinyarwanda is the official language of Rwanda. It is also spoken in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Uganda, where it is known as Fumbira. In Rwanda, it is spoken by approximately 7 million people.

Sesotho is an official language in Lesotho and South Africa. In South Africa, there are approximately 4 million speakers of this language. Sesotho is Bantu in origin, and a member of the Sotho-Tswana language group. It is a tonal language, and has a strong literary tradition.

Swahili is an official language in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. It is also spoken in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mayotte, Mozambique, Oman, Rwanda, Somalia, and South Africa. Throughout East Africa, Swahili is used as a lingua franca, allowing vastly diverse peoples to communicate and live peacefully alongside one another. It is a Bantu language, but has strong Arabic influences.

Ndebele is one of eleven officially recognized languages of South Africa. It is a Southeastern Bantu language, spoken by approximately 2 million people. Interestingly enough, the amaNdebele people once had their own nation in northeast South Africa in the late twentieth century. Throughout their history, they have often been discouraged from speaking Ndebele. However, the language is currently alive and well.

Tsonga is an official Bantu language of South Africa, spoken by approximately 3 million people. This language is native to a group of people often known as the Shangaan. Typically, Shangaan live in the following provinces of South Africa: Limpopo, Guateng, and Mpumalanga. Tsonga is also spoken in Mozambique, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe.

Shona is the official language of Zimbabwe, spoken by approximately 80 percent of the population. This language is also spoken in Botswana, Mozambique, and Zambia. Shona, a member of the Bantu language family, is spoken in many dialects including Chi-Harare, Kalanga, and Zezuru, among others. Shona and English are taught in schools in Zimbabwe.

Setswana is also spoken in Namibia and Zimbabwe. In Botswana and South Africa, about 4 million people each speak this language. In South Africa, Setswana is the fifth most spoken language.

Kirundi is the official language of Burundi. It is a Bantu language and is very closely related to Kinyarwanda, the official language of Burundi’s neighbor on the north, Rwanda. In total, there are about 4 million people who speak Kirundi. It is spoken mainly by the ethnic groups known as Hutu and Tutsi.

Comorian is one of the three official languages spoken at the Comoros Islands. It is closely related to the East African dialect of Swahili. Comorian is spoken by more than 90% of the population on the Comoros Island which speaks a large number of dialects including Ndzwani and Ngazidja.

Sango is an official language of the Central African Republic. It is a creole related to Ngbandi and French. Spoken primarily in the Central African Republic, Chad, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sango is used by over 5 million people.
