A professional who verifies color of hosiery dye lots against standard and modifies dyeing process on basis of knowledge of dyes and dyeing time. Respnsibilities include:

• Passes sample hose from each dye lot through steam to fix color.
• Compares color with master sample and approves lot if color matches standard.
• Determines dyeing time and weighs out additional dyes or reducing agents for lots not meeting specifications.
• May assist supervisor dyer to schedule dyeing of assembled dye lots and to verify color of new styles against customer's color swatch.
