A professional who off bears ropes of yarn from discharge end of yarn mercerizing, dyeing, or drying machine, or from machine that divides ball warps into smaller warps. Respnsibilities include:

• Observes ropes of yarn as ropes coil onto cloth or fold into baskets or cartons to detect breaks or tangles in yarn.
• Ties broken yarn ends to prevent tangling.
• Signals machine tender to stop machine if yarn tangles.
• Ties corners of cloth over coiled yarn and replaces filled cloth or basket.
• Assists machine tenders in threading and cleaning machine.
