The Mount Louis is the world’s first dual reflection solar furnace that was built in Mount-Louis in 1949 by Professor Felix Trumbe who initiated scientific research and individual application in the field of high temperatures of between 1000°c and 3000°c. This furnace served as a prototype for the construction of the large solar furnace at Odeillo that refer to all solar furnaces built since then throughout the world.
