A professional who assists felting-machine operator to attach reinforcing burlap to felt strips or to compress layers of felt. Respnsibilities include:

• Lifts bats of felt into place at end of conveyor.
• Smooths wrinkles from felt, and plucks foreign matter from felt, using tweezers.
• Laps ends of felt bats with ends of successive bats to form continuous strips of padding.
• Performs other duties as described under helper master title.
