A professional who tends vacuum driers that heat chemical solids to remove water or other liquids. Respnsibilities include:

• Observes temperature indicators and vacuum gauges and turns steam valves and sets dials to regulate temperature and vacuum pressure in drier as specified.
• Observes drying material in glass viewer of equipment for conformance with specifications.
• Collects samples of material for laboratory moisture test.
• Records gauge readings, type of material dried, weight, and drying time.
