A professional who tends machine that flattens tobacco stems or stems and veins of tobacco leaves. Respnsibilities include:

• Starts conveyor that feeds tobacco to rollers of machine and forks tobacco onto conveyor.
• Regulates flow of steam and water to moisten tobacco and clean and cool rollers.
• May remove flattened leaves from machine and stack leaves in pile or fork flattened stems into hogsheads.
